कभी-कभी बातें ही वो ज़ख्म दे देती हैं,
जो किसी तलवार से भी गहरे उतर जाते हैं।
इंसान तो भूल भी जाए,
पर कही हुई बात… दिल में घर बना लेती है।
उसी एहसास को शायरी में पिरोकर तुम्हारे लिए—

कितना अजीब होता है न…
लफ़्ज़ तो हल्के होते हैं,
मगर दिल पर गिर जाएँ,
तो पहाड़ का वज़न महसूस होता है।
किसी की एक बोल…
पूरे दिन का सुकून छीन सकती है,
और किसी की एक अच्छी बात…
टूटे हुए दिल में फिर से जान डाल देती है।
बातें इंसान को बनाती भी हैं और गिराती भी,
कुछ लोग यूँ ही मुस्कुराकर दिल जीत लेते हैं,
तो कुछ लोग जान-बूझकर ऐसे तीर चलाते हैं,
कि सामने वाला हँसते-हँसते भी रोने लगे।
बातों का असर क्या होता है,
ये वही समझ सकता है जिसका दिल
कभी किसी की कही हुई बातों से टूटा हो।
कितनी अजीब बात है,
हम कहते कुछ और हैं,
समझा कुछ और जाता है,
और दिल में चुभता बिल्कुल कुछ और है।
कभी छोटी-सी बात रगों में आग लगा देती है,
और कभी बड़े से बड़े दर्द
सिर्फ दो मीठे लफ़्ज़ों से खत्म हो जाते हैं।
कभी-कभी लगता है काश…
लोग बोलने से पहले सोच लिया करें।
क्योंकि ज़रा-सी कड़वी बातें
रात भर नींद चुरा लेती हैं।
हम दिखते भले मजबूत हों,
पर टूटते तो हमेशा बातों से ही हैं।
क्योंकि ज़ख्म तो भर जाते हैं,
पर लफ़्ज़ों के निशान नहीं।
बातें तभी अच्छी लगती हैं
जब दिल से निकलकर दिल तक जाएँ,
वरना तो दुनिया में शोर बहुत है।
किसी की तारीफ़ करने में क्या जाता है?
दो पल किसी को मुस्कुराने का मौका मिल जाए,
तो यह भी नेक काम से कम नहीं।
मगर अफ़सोस…
लोगों की ज़ुबान पर प्यार से ज्यादा
ज़हर ही रहता है आजकल।
कभी किसी की कही हुई बात
हमें चुप कर देती है,
और कभी किसी का एक शब्द
हमें फिर से जीना सिखा देता है।
इंसान का प्यार भी बातों में बसता है
और नफ़रत भी।
दिल की दुनिया लफ़्ज़ों से ही चलती है।
कभी सोचा है?
रिश्ते टूटना अचानक नहीं होता,
धीरे-धीरे बातों से दरार पड़ती है,
और एक दिन वो दरार इतनी गहरी हो जाती है
कि जोड़ना भी नामुमकिन होता है।
लेकिन हाँ…
इसी दुनिया में ऐसे लोग भी हैं
जो सिर्फ अच्छे शब्द बोलकर
थके हुए दिलों को राहत देते हैं।
तो याद रखना—
बातें देखी नहीं जातीं,
महसूस की जाती हैं।
इसलिए बोलो तो प्यार से बोला करो,
क्यूँकि कौन किस दर्द से गुजर रहा है,
ये नज़रों से नहीं पता चलता।
और किसी की टूटी हुई हिम्मत
तुम्हारे मीठे शब्दों से ही जुड़ सकती है।

How strange it is…
Words are light,

They feel the weight of a mountain.
A single word from someone…
Can take away an entire day's peace,
And a kind word from someone…
Brings life back to a broken heart.
Words both make and break people.
Some people win hearts with a casual smile,
While others deliberately shoot such arrows,
that the other person starts crying while laughing.
The impact of words can only be understood by someone whose heart has been broken by something they've said.
How strange it is.
We say one thing, yet understand something else, and what stings the heart is something else entirely.
Sometimes a small thing sets our veins on fire,
And sometimes the greatest pain
is alleviated by just two sweet words.
Sometimes I wish...
People would think before they speak.
Because even the slightest harsh words
rob us of sleep.
We may appear strong,
But it's always words that break us.
Because wounds heal,
but the scars of words don't.
Words are pleasing only when they come from the heart and reach the heart,
Otherwise, there's too much noise in the world.
What's the harm in praising someone?
If you get a chance to make someone smile for a few moments,
that's no less than a noble deed. But alas…
People's tongues are more venomous than love these days.
Sometimes something someone says
silences us,
and sometimes a single word
teaches us to live again.
Human love resides in words,
and so does hatred.
